Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bill was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in 1980 after graduating from the University of Tulsa College of Law. Later that same year after relocating to Washington, D.C. Bill passed a second bar examination in the District of Columbia and was admitted to the Bar of the District of Columbia While in Washington, Bill worked as a legal automation consultant to governmental agencies, Fortune 500 Corporations, and national law firms. As a senior consultant and attorney he worked with trial counsel, corporate counsel, and systems analysts to develop and implement computer systems in complex litigation and thus enabled management and retrieval of evidence and related legal information.

In 1986 Bill was recruited to Florida to lead an effort to automate real estate contracts and franchise agreements related to the management and operation of over 5,000 restaurants. After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 1989, Bill left the Burger King Corporation legal department to focus on civil trial practice. In Florida, his practice in state and federal courts includes an emphasis on insurance coverage, wrongful death, and personal injury matters.

Bill and his family moved to Tampa from Miami in 1992. He came to Tampa to join the boutique litigation firm of Schropp, Buell & Elligett. He assisted Charles Schropp, in the representation of the Celotex Corporation. This litigation was coverage ancillary proceeding in Celotex’s bankruptcy. Celotex sought insurance coverage for asbestos-related bodily injury and property damage claims afforded by comprehensive general liability policies. Insurers that were defendants in this proceeding included Aetna, American Home Assurance, AIU Insurance Company, Continental Casualty, Columbia Casualty Company, Eric Reinsurance, Employers Mutual Casualty, Gibraltar Casualty Company, Granite State, Hartford Accident and Indemnity, Hudson, Lexington, National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA., Northbrook, as successor in interest to Allstate, Old Republic, Royal Indemnity, Transportation, Twin City, Employers Insurance of WAUSAU, Underwriters at Lloyd's of London, and Zurich American Insurance Company.

After the conclusion of the Celotex litigation, Bill joined Morgan, Colling & Gilbert, the predecessor to Morgan & Morgan. At Morgan, Bill led a team of legal assistants, paralegals, and case managers in the representation of Morgan clients in personal injury, nursing home and wrongful death claims. Bill was responsible for pre-suit matters and all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, motion practice, as well as attendance at hearings, mediations, and trials,

In his career as an attorney, Bill has represented large corporations, including oil companies, public utilities and insurance companies. Nonetheless, he has found that there is nothing more rewarding than helping individuals when they confront these entities.

Bill has earned an “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell, a national publication utilized by law firms and corporate legal departments. This publication’s rating is the highest classification of ability and ethics bestowed after review of evaluations of other lawyers familiar with Mr. Daniel.
